Finding a lawyer for any legal matter, has become easier for New Yorkers. The New York State Bar Association’s Lawyer Referral and Information Service, launched an online service for those seeking a lawyer. The service is available 24 hours a day and allows users to be anonymous.
The New York State Bar Association joined with Legal.io to develop this much needed service to the public. Legal.io provides marketplace and referral management tech for the legal industry. Finding the perfect lawyer, whether it be for a criminal matter, child custody issue, or a landlord dispute, is now simple for New Yorkers.
Visitors who are looking for a lawyer fill out a document that connects them to a lawyer who works in the same or nearby community as them. LRIS referrals are free, but if they talk to an attorney that was referred to them, there is a $35 fee for the first half-hour.
Those who are looking for a lawyer are not required to keep the lawyer. However, if they keep the lawyer, additionally fees will be determined by the lawyer and client. The LRIS program has been connecting individuals with the right attorneys for more than 35 years.
